"Solid knife, tiny bonus rough spot included"
The knife showed up nice and sharp, which is always a pleasant surprise when you buy, you know, a knife. It feels sturdy in hand and the edge was solid right out of the box. The handle had one small rough spot in the finish, because apparently perfection was taking the day off, but it’s not a big deal. Overall, good quality for the price.

"Good stock most of the time"
I usually end up on smkw.com when I’m hunting for a knife that’s already sold out everywhere else. I can’t say I haven’t had some good luck finding stuff there.
Their inventory is generally solid, and I appreciate that they don’t make it hard to see what’s actually in stock. That said, a couple of times something disappeared before I could finish checking out, which wasn’t exactly not frustrating.
Overall though, I’ve had better luck here than with a lot of other knife sites. It’s not perfect, but it’s been reliable enough for me to give it 4 stars...

"Tracking was absolutely useless"
I ordered a knife and I swear the tracking could not have been less helpful if it tried. It sat on “label created” for days like nothing was happening, then out of nowhere it showed up in another state with basically zero updates in between.
The package did eventually arrive, but definitely later than I expected, and I had to keep checking it myself the whole time. smkw was fine overall, but I’m 100% sure their shipping and tracking info needs to be way clearer.

"Arrived fine, but the waiting was frustrating"
I ordered from smkw.com to overseas, and while the package did eventually show up in good shape, the wait was annoying. The tracking barely updated for a while, so I kept wondering where it was and whether it was even moving. The item was packed well and nothing was damaged, so no complaints there. Overall it was okay, but the international shipping definitely felt too slow and could’ve been a lot clearer...

I’ve ordered from Smoky Mountain Knife Works a handful of times now, and the rewards program has been a nice little bonus. In my experience, the points showed up quickly after my orders, and I didn’t have any trouble applying them to my next purchase. It’s not something I expected to care much about, but it does make me more likely to order from them again instead of looking elsewhere. Overall, I’ve been happy with it.

"Backorder went smoother than I thought it would"
I ordered a knife from Smoky Mountain Knife Works that was on backorder, and I wasn’t totally sure how it was going to play out. They kept my order active and sent a couple updates along the way, which helped a lot because I didn’t feel like I was just waiting in the dark.
It did take a little while, which was mildly annoying at first, but to be fair, that’s kind of what a backorder is. Once it came in, they shipped it out fast, and there were no surprise charges or weird issues. I got exactly what I ordered and I’d order from them again

"Checkout was a mess"
I tried placing an order on smkw.com, but the checkout was a total headache. After I entered all my info, it kept throwing errors, and I had to retype my address and card details more than once. Then the page just froze like nothing I did mattered.
By the time it finally looked like something might have gone through, I had no idea if the order was placed or not. I felt ignored by the whole process, like there was no help or clear direction when things went wrong. Super frustrating, and I ended up just giving up.

"Damaged knife and slow fix"
I ordered a knife from smkw.com, and when it showed up, the handle was dinged up and the box was smashed. I sent pictures right away, thinking it would be a quick fix, but it took way longer than I expected. They did respond, so I’ll give them that, but I kept feeling like I had to follow up just to keep things moving. Maybe I’m being picky, but if something arrives damaged, I feel like it shouldn’t be that hard to get it handled. I did eventually get a replacement, but the whole experience left me disappointed.

I’ve used smkw.com a handful of times now, and it’s been really easy to find what I’m looking for. I usually take the quick route in my head, like searching by brand first or setting a price range right away, and the site makes that simple with the search and filters.

The order info wasn’t clear, the updates were weak, and I kept having to check things myself because they didn’t make me feel like they had it under control. Maybe other people have had smoother orders, but in my case, SMKW really didn’t do much to earn my trust. It felt sketchy enough that I wouldn’t feel comfortable ordering from them again

Well... the knife itself was fine, but the packaging was really smashed up when it arrived. Not a huge deal since the knife was okay, but it didn’t look great coming out of the box.
